Doubtingwith Thomas

About

I'm a believer who still asks.

I'm Thomas. I live in Minnesota, I design things for a living, and I follow Jesus. I've also spent plenty of Sunday mornings quietly wondering whether any of it is true.

For a long time I kept those questions to myself, partly because I was afraid of where they might lead. I started this site because I suspect I'm not the only one.

Here I take the hardest questions about Christianity one at a time. I try to give each objection its strongest form, then share what has helped me keep believing. I'm not a pastor or a scholar. I'm working it out in public, and you're welcome to work it out alongside me.

Why the name

The disciple Thomas wouldn't believe Jesus had risen until he could see the wounds for himself. He's been called Doubting Thomas ever since. His story doesn't end in doubt, though. It ends with Thomas on his knees saying, "My Lord and my God."

"Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."1 Peter 3:15
